And the Resolution Is…

The resolution for 2010-2011 is up on the NFA website – a few days early, I might add!

There were five potential topics, listed here. Of those, NFA member schools voted for their top choices, and the following resolution was selected:

Be it resolved: the United States Federal Government should substantially reform the provision of mental health services to the chronically mentally ill.

I have to say, bravo. The community got it right this time – this is the most debatable resolution of the choices offered. This looks to be an interesting and exciting year in LD debate!

So, when will we start running mental health services for people in Tibet?

*FACEPALM*

^^^^^ ditto.

Scratch that. I’d love international cases. Expands Neg ground so much it’s not even funny. Makes for more generic disads, sure. But that’s the price an Aff will have to pay for running a generic aid (mental health services) case. It decentralizes focus on the topic, but to each his own.

Good cases could come from mental health services for active duty military in Iraq/Afghanistan.

Face-palm, hell… Anybody running that weak-ass, hide-the-ball type of Affirmative in front of me might… might… “win” the round (never underestimate Negative incompetence), but his/her speaker points are going to make Sarah Palin’s SAT scores look good.

“me” just wants to rob the camp files from HS camps… tsk tsk tsk

MHM, Maybe Palin would be helped by the plan text. We give her some valume or something…

David, really?

***Don’t forget to post your aff or other affs you run into on the wiki case list!***

@ S.D. SWANSONG – Permit me to refudiate you on one minor point… It’s “Valium” (which should be capitalized btw, because it is a trade name, not the generic designation) not “valume” … unless, of course, you meant “volume,” in which case, you lose on inherency (hereinafter designated as “I!”), because she’s got plenty of that. Or, alternatively, you might just have been “trolling,” in order to lure me into using quotation marks again… DAMMIT!

Which reminds me of a rather amusing story, actually…

And watch out for a lot of recycled HS backfiles. There’s already a lot of buzz in the debateopshere about this.

Again – I’m giving fair warning to all competitors in advance – if you want “GOOD SPEAKS” from me – serve me fresh food for thought… not canned weaksauce.

nah, I just wasn’t paying attention and the red squiggly didn’t come up so I didn’t notice it. No Trolling, saving those trolls for better days.
