BREAKING – New Topic for NFA Nationals and Phi Rho Pi
I just got off the phone with an inside source at NFA who told me that the NFA-LD committee, in cooperation with the major two year national tournament, is planning on announcing later today, April 1, that nationals will be using a new topic!

Given the steady stream of complaints about this year’s topic:
- Whose transportation infrastructure are we supposed to be reforming anyway? Framers intent clearly left off “its” from the topic so apparently the USFG can reform any countries infrastructure!
- Now that health care reform has passed politics disadvantages, which many say is the only generic disadvantage to this topic, really has no impact
- Come on – the USFG does not reform infrastructure! It just pays the states to do what they want them to do.
- Given that States have yet to secede after passing health care reform federalism disadvantages are empirically denied. And really, that was some schools entire negative strategy.
If you are planning on attending Nationals you will want to know the new topic to quickly develop your arsenal of new cases, topicality challenges to those who still read cases reforming transportation infrastructure, and the plenty of case specific disadvantages available on the new topic.
Stay tuned…
