NFA Results
Hey Y’all,
Just wanted to let you know that the hard work paid off and NFA was a great success for both Cali and NFA-LD. Pacific’s Broc Maples and Steve Farias broke to double-octs, and UNR’s Matt Hogan was also a double octa-finalist. Great Job!
There was also a coaches meeting at NFA this year where we talked about changing a few things for upcoming NFA’s. We discussed having 3-5 strikes, removing the ban on disclosure at NFA, judge philosophies, schedule changes to that LD isn’t first as last every day, and a variety of other small things. Change is likely to be slow at NFA but that fact that the tournament cared enough to listen is a great thing!
Looking to next year, hopefully we can get more people involved earlier on the topic and have some more local tournaments! Pacific will continue to compete in the event and I would like to invite everyone else to as well. If you need help jut check out the site or contact Danny or myself.
Over the next few weeks I will be in the People’s Republic of China working on some debate tasks there, but when I return (and maybe before then) I will post a few more instructional tips to keep your minds busy over the long summer.
