Resolutions and voting procedure for next year…
From the NFA web page:
The 2008-2009 resolution will be from the Latin America topic area. The final 5 resolutions:
A. RESOLVED: The United States Federal Government should substantially reform its trade policy with one or more of the following countries: Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Panama and/or Venezuela.
B. RESOLVED: The United States Federal Government should substantially increase its constructive engagement with Cuba.
C. RESOLVED: The United States Federal Government should substantially alter its foreign policy towards one or more of the following nations: Bolivia, Ecuador, and/or Venezuela.
D. RESOLVED: The United States Federal Government should substantially alter its narcotics and/or counter-terrorism policies towards Latin America.
E. RESOLVED: The United States Federal Government should substantially alter its foreign policy towards one or more of the following nations: Brazil, Colombia and/or Argentina.

A ballot will be sent out on March 29th with the five (5) resolutions. In order for the ballot to be counted, all five resolutions must be rank ordered. The ballots must be returned to the NFA President and received by Tuesday, April 15 (Note change).
You may email Larry Schnoor (email address in the footer) with your list of resolutions in order.
A weighted preferential voting system with
1st = 5 points, 2nd = 4 points, 3rd = 3 points, 4th = 2 points and 5th = 1 point will be used. Ties will be broken by the President of the NFA, who may at his/her decision, consult with the LD Committee.
Resolution Announcement: The winning resolution will be known only to the President of the NFA until it is announced on August 1st.
