Next year’s topic discussion
Next year the topic area is Latin America. Not sure how happy I am to have another international topic – I think for educational balance and to grab as many people as possible it’s good to rotate each year so people who prefer debating domestic get a year and people who prefer international get a year. But, given the complete lack of focus on Latin America by President Bush over the past 8 years, the rise of Hugo Chavez, the importance of free trade agreements in the election, and the recent dramatic changes in Cuba – it’ll be interesting to see the development.
