Topic Area Background
The LD Camp went very well, with 16 students from 4 schools in attendance. Not bad for the first year of anything that doesn’t give away trophies. Anyway, among the highlights was a discussion of delivery by Prof. Bill Sparks of Cerritos College, who (among other things) explained the difference between strategies that allow you obfuscate, and strategies that allow you to learn how to think.
In the first morning session, I lead a discussion of the Topic Area Background for this year’s NFA L/D topic. The slideshow includes very basic information on each of the countries that make up the Greater Horn of Africa, as well as some ideas for possible affirmatives.
