Free Books on Horn of Africa
Google Books is amazing – http://books.google.com – and should come in handy this year to get some really great cards for NFA-LD. I’d recommend searching for very specific phrases because the books with limited views will only return a few pages. They do have an option to search only “full preview” books but that is usually too limited.
Cutting & pasting is sometimes difficult. One thing you can do to make it easier is that with the page on your screen push the “Print screen” button on your keyboard. This takes a picture so to speaker of your monitor. You can then go into Word and Paste the picture of your screen. Use the cropping tool to only include the text that you want.
Here is a list of books I’ve found so far that I think would be helpful. All of these are full view. Again, if you search in limited view put a very exacting phrase to make sure you get the pages that you want.
- Avoiding Conflict in the Horn of Africa: U.S. Policy Toward Ethiopia and Eritrea (Lyons)
- The Unknown Horn of Africa (James – 1888 =P)
- Promoting U.S. Economic Relations With Africa
- Governance and Food Security in an Age of Globalization
