NFA-LD Added to PRP
Houston, TX- At the 2007 Phi Rho Pi (community college national championships) business meeting tonight NFA-LD was added as a debate event in pattern A. This means it conflicts with CA/STE and Interp Theater. Each school is limited to four slots and all other NFA-LD rules will be followed.
Many thanks to the hard work of Francesca Bishop (El Camino) for proposing the motion at the Debate Committee, Mark Nelson (Santa Rosa – Debate Committee chairperson), Mike DeCarbo (Santiago Canyon) for excellent advocacy, and everyone else who helped get the event added and voted for it at the meeting.
I truly think that now that CCCFA and PRP have added NFA-LD we should be able to make NFA-LD a permanent event at PSCFA and that will encourage many more invitational tournaments to offer the event.
Now let’s make sure that the 2007-2008 topic is solid and that more schools compete. Please send in evidence samples – I think that’s a great way to help the event grow. I think we can all shoot for a HUGE NFA-LD debate contingent from Southern California by next year’s Sunset Cliffs – Western Kentucky watch out! =)
