Cutting Cards
One of the more challenging aspects of starting NFA-LD is accumulating the critical mass of evidence needed for the first tournament. Once you have the basic research done then all you need to do throughout the semester is keep updating your files. You’ll want to stay on top of any current developments related to your case as well as the cases you hear from other schools. Following each tournament make sure to go and get a few case specific evidence that you can use against the team in the future (or other teams that use the same case). We’ll be posting tons of generic evidence that you are free to use in your rounds from this site. For a primer on ‘cutting cards’ please see this link from Wikipedia.
Finally, please help contribute evidence to SoCal-LD if you find the information on the site helpful. We will hopefully have a full starter pack available by January so that debaters can try the event without too much research up front. I’ll start posting some files shortly. Enjoy!
